12/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Joshua is a lean, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action and presents well out front. He moves well laterally, utilizing foot quickness (7.28 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Joshua has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
