01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Joshua is a young 2B, who shows the ability to swing it. At the plate he shows a great middle line drive approach, while making consistent contact, with the ability to control the at-bat with great pitch selection. In the field Joshua shows a great understanding of the position, and displays a great ready position while taking good angles to the baseball. Joshua is only going to improve as he continues to grow and get stronger, while implementing a solid long toss program. He also shows the ability to make great adjustments as a player, and is extremely coachable.

09/14/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Fresno, CA Joshua is a young, R/R 2-way player as a 2B/OF. At 2B, has an aggressive approach as he comes to get the ground ball. He fields the ball cleanly and gives good DP feeds. In the OF, he hustles into position behind the fly-ball and secures the catch with 2-hands. He gains ground and works in-line toward his target. With the bat, Joshua shows a square setup with good balance. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the whole field. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
