03/14/2010 - College PREP - Wichita, KS Josh showed similar skills at the Wichita workout as he did at the AZ Fall Invitational. He currently projects better at SS, than on the mound. Defensively, Josh takes good angles to the ball and fields it cleanly. He makes plays on balls hit his way, shows a strong arm, and he throws accurately across the diamond. If Josh can quicken his release and field the ball in a lower fielding position, overall abilities can improve. On the mound, Josh's FB improved from 77 to 82 MPH and it has A/S run. He has a quick arm, repeats his delivery, and he works quickly. If Josh can get more extension on his pitches and loosen his upper 1/2, we could see his stock on the mound rise. Offensively, Josh improved his hitting grade from 42 to 45, and showed good barrel accuracy and use of his lower 1/2. He makes solid contact with the baseball and his swing is in rhythm. A shorter, and more level / compact swing should help Josh's hitting continue to improve.
