05/05/2013 - College PREP - Lakewood (Denver), CO Josh is an OF who has a big and lanky build. He can get moving as he displays quick footwork, running his 60 in 7.09. He takes a quick first step and shows the ability to track down balls hit into the gaps. He fields the ball, gathers himself well, and delivers the ball into his target. Increased arm strength will only benefit his OF play. Offensively, this right-handed hitter displays an athletic setup and short stride. He stays back and has quick hands, delivering the barrel to and through the zone. More lower 1/2 drive will help to increase power. Sanchez still has time to improve on the diamond as he is approaching his senior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
