01/18/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Joshua continues to shine on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, he takes proper routes angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 64-66 mph with tailing action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/17/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Joshua showed offensive and defensive upgrades during his last workout in Detroit. He increased arm strength to 67 MPH, and exit velocity to 63. In the OF, Joshua has soft hands, efficient footwork, and he takes good routes and angles to the baseball. He has a quick 1st step, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and consistency to his cut off man. At the plate, Joshua has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, good feel for the barrel, and he works the ball well gap to gap.

09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Joshua is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2025. Defensively, Joshua has firm hands, agile movements, and his footwork is efficient. He makes plays, the ball sticks to his glove, and his exchange is clean with momentum to his target. Offensively, Joshua has a square/athletic set-up, a short/square stride, and good balance. He has good feel for the barrel, he swings aggressively, and he makes square contact to all fields. Joshua can further improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
