11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) Josiah is a shortstop and right-handed pitcher from the Class of 2030 who continues to develop his skills through his participation in the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. As a shortstop, he shows quick, active feet that help him close the distance on batted balls, fielding them out front while keeping his feet engaged throughout the process. His accuracy across the diamond is a testament to his strong defensive abilities. At the plate, Josiah starts with an athletic stance and high hands, utilizing a simple load and compact swing that allows him to deliver the barrel with authority. As a right-handed pitcher, he employs a small rocker step to begin his delivery, strides in line, and finishes with a composed, full motion. His pitching IQ is evident, showing a clear understanding of the game. Throughout his weekend in Arizona, Josiah maintained a high energy level and a positive attitude, proving himself to be not only a dedicated player but also a great teammate. With a solid foundation, strong instincts, and a tireless work ethic, Josiah is a player with significant potential to continue growing and making an impact on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
