01/12/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Josyah-Michael worked out on the mound and in the OF during his last workout. On the mound, this LHP has a balanced delivery, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target, he has a controlled landing toward the plate, and he competes in the zone. In the OF, Josyah-Michael has active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields athletically. He covers ground, makes plays, and throws with momentum to his cut off man. Offensively, Josyah-Michael has an athletic set-up, a square stride, and he finds the barrel. He will need to continue to work on the following in order for skills to get better.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Josyah-Michael continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/11/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Josyah-Michael is a thin, 2-way player who plays OF and LHP. Defensively, Josyah-Michael has a presentable glove, efficient footwork, and he fields athletically. He uses 2 hands to catch, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action to his cut off man. On the mound, this LHP has good balance, he separates his hands on time, and he lands in a square position. He keeps his eyes on target and competes in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Josyah-Michael stands in the box athletically, he loads well, and takes a square stride toward the pitcher. He gets solid rotation through and can hit to all fields. Solid overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
