01/17/2025 - 2025 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jude McCullough is a strong and physical third baseman and right-handed pitcher with a solid 6'0", 200 lb frame that provides power potential on both sides of the game. Defensively, McCullough possesses a strong arm (80 mph radar velocity) and good footwork, making him a reliable defender at third base. His quick reactions and lateral movement (4.75 shuttle time) allow him to handle the hot corner effectively. Continued refinement in his hands and first-step quickness will further enhance his defensive ability. At the plate, McCullough shows a developing power profile, with a 78 mph exit velocity and proven barrel accuracy. His compact right-handed swing allows him to make solid contact, and as he continues to add strength and improve his bat speed, he has the potential to become a consistent offensive threat. On the mound, McCullough brings a competitive approach with a solid fastball and developing secondary pitches. His repeatable mechanics and improving command give him the foundation to be effective as a pitcher with continued development. Athletically, his grip strength (140.4R/130.8L) and broad jump (106 inches) highlight his raw strength and explosiveness, which will continue to translate into more power at the plate and increased arm strength. Overall, McCullough is a versatile corner infielder with a strong arm, developing power, and two-way potential. As he continues to refine his skills at the plate, in the field, and on the mound, he has the ability to make a strong impact at the next level.

09/18/2024 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2026) Jude McCullough, a 2026 3B/RHP from Liberty Township, OH, recently had an impressive performance at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. On the mound, his fastball was clocked at 84 mph, complemented by a 74 mph curveball and a 77 mph changeup. With two solid outings during the tournament, he earned the title of "bulldog" on the mound—a true testament to his competitive spirit and determination. His confidence shines through in his pitching, leading to great success. Defensively, McCullough's arm was consistently accurate, and he made every throw count. His excellent hands and quick release further highlight his defensive skills. By continuing to focus on improving his range and speed, he can elevate his game even further. Offensively, he had a successful weekend, collecting three hits and reaching base in over half of his plate appearances, thanks to four additional walks he drew. Overall, McCullough is a well-rounded player with a bright future ahead.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Jude is a developing C/RHP that will graduate in 2026. As a C, he starts with an athletic and relaxed stance. Does a good job of working around the baseball while gaining ground towards second base. Has a quick/clean exchange as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 65mph and a best pop time of 2.55 seconds. Jude tries to create good blocking angles. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher starts square on the rubber with good composure. Separates on time with a full finish towards home plate. Jude throws a FB that has some sinking action and topped out at 65mph. Mixes in a developing CB that has an 11/5 shape. In live game action, he threw 21 of his 35 pitches for strikes. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an upright and open stance. Linear bat path through the zone with the ability to hit line drives to all fields. He recorded a bat exit velocity of 57mph during his round of BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee Jude having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

01/26/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Jude is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Jude has active feet, a presentable glove, and fields low and athletically. He has good flexion, tracks well, and throws with a quick release to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.5 seconds. On the mound, this RHP has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, gets good extension on his pitches, and lands with good direction; competing in the zone. Offensively, Jude has an athletic stance, good balance, and swings in good rhythm. He swings aggressively, hits line drives, and uses his lower body. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
