04/05/2024 - The Preseason All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach Jude flashed some impressive skills at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games in Myrtle Beach highlighted by a dominant performance in the HR Derby to take home the title. The ball jumps of his bat and has carry to it thanks to present strength and good leverage. He is still working to carry over the workout swing to the games, but the foundation is there and he competes well in the batter's box. More top hand and a bit more of a level path should help to find more consistent contact at the plate. Jude has a good, durable frame for the catching position and has strong hands behind the dish. Quicker feet and a shorter arm stroke will help the time it takes him to make throws to bases from out of the chute. We like his focus and attention to detail at the catching position - good traits to have at that important spot. Finally, Jude jumped on the mound and showed some arm strength from a 3/4 slot with a fastball up to 63 mph. His arm is loose and live, pointing to further upside there. We look forward to watching Jude as he continues to develop and refine his skill set.
