07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Julian is a 2028 C who improved his skills at BF National World Series. Behind the plate, he shows decent footwork and good throws down to 2B. Lowest pop time was 2.78 seconds. Received and blocked well. At the plate, he showed off a line drive approach and intent in the swing. Showed very solid mechanics. Reached base times with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Julian is a good player that we hope to see again in the future.

06/11/2023 - National Showcase - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Julian is a solid, athletic C/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times shows in the 2.31 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 65-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop Julian has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
