02/24/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Julian is a 5 ft 6/150 1B/LHP in the 2029 class. Defensively, he plays with a high motor. He has effective feet and gains ground to the baseball. Creates a squared fielding position and offers great glove presentation. The ball sticks to his pocket and can redirect with clean actions. Obtains a short and loose arm action with a high 3 qtr. slot. Arm plays at 70 and proves to be accurate. On the mound, he uses his lower half well and keeps his head to the target. Works to stay behind the ball and has balance over the rubber. His FB shows run at 70 and his CH has deception at 59. Both pitches can fill up the zone. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and gets into his load well. Shows great hands and allows his barrel to get on-plane. Creates positive contact at 76 exit velo and scouts feel the potential is there. Overall, Julian has great starting points to become an exceptional talent.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
