08/23/2008 - College PREP - Purchase, NY Justin is a young RHP that has above average command of all his pitches. Fastball shows good arm side run and sink. Off speed pitches are near above average. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape, tight spin and late depth. He has a solid feel for his changeup with arm side run action. Arm slot does drop at times on his change. Arm strength is average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to further develop. Delivery is solid showing good balance and works on a downhill plane. Justin has an upside on the mound and with 2 years to continue to develop, he will catch the eyes of the college coaches.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
