Justin is a long, athletic (6'1, 165lbs) two-way prospect who is currently more advanced as a shortstop. He has advanced feel to hit with the ability to find the barrel consistently and stay fluid to hit any pitch in any spot. He loads to a power position and strides on time to launch through the zone with fast bat speed. His lower half generates power to the pull side as he works on a direct path to the ball, making consistent, hard contact. At short, he shows smooth actions to get ready pre-pitch and to work aggressively to the ball. He funnels everything in to center with soft hands and has a clean exchange to make accurate throws and quick feeds. On the bump, this right hander pounds the zone with a three-pitch mix including a low 70's fastball, a 10-4 curveball with good shape and a knuckleball with tumble. He can throw his secondaries for strikes and is effective working backwards and keeping hitters off balance. A long toss program will help free up his arm action and add velocity and movement to his stuff. Justin is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching develop.
