10/14/2012 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Justin is a solid, athletic 2nd baseman with good skills. Defensively, Justin has soft / sure hands, quick feet, and he fields in a low / square position. He fields out in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a loose are across the diamond. Added arm strength and a letting his throws loose can help defense get better. Offensively, Justin has a square / athletic set-up, a short / square stride, and average bat speed. He has a level swing, he works the middle of the field, and he swings in good rhythm. Added bat speed and more lower 1/2 can help hitting numbers rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
