04/13/2014 - College PREP - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Justin is a lean RHP that will graduate in 2016. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through an over the top arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 82-87 mph with solid arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Justin has the makings of a special type player that will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his abilities on the mound as he has an upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
