07/17/2010 - Team One West 2010 - Scouting Report Justin showed similar skills at Team One West as he did at his previous workout. Justin is an athletic OF with good footwork and a good glove. He takes good routes and angles to the ball and he has playable hands. Justin has a decent arm which is accurate to his target. Justin can get better with more aggressiveness on ground balls and by working to throw the baseball downhill. At the plate, Justin is an aggressive hitter with a proper load, good balance, and good bat speed. He uses his lower 1/2 well and has pull side pop in his bat. Hitting can get better if Justin can shorten his stride and have more direct hands to the ball.

01/31/2010 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Justin is a OF with a tall, strong, and athletic looking body that is well suited for his position. Feet are active in taking proper routes / angles as he works to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. Hands and feet work well in getting rid of the baseball quickly as he shows accuracy on his throws. Range will improve as more foot speed is developed. Offensively is where Sheehan shows best as he loads well and displays strength in his swing with baseball jumping off his bat through a balanced approach. Hands work inside the ball as he utilizes all fields showing gap to gap power. Justin has a lot of potential with the makings to be a solid collegiate player, especially at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
