11/02/2014 - National Tryout - Shreveport, LA Justin has worked hard and molded himself into a solid all-around prospect. At the hot corner, he shows active prep footwork and plays on the balls of his feet. He picks out the right hops, gathers well and has smooth actions. He replaces his feet well, gets his shoulders in-line and gains ground toward his target. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He creates good torque and fires the barrel with quick hands to and through the zone. The ball jumps off of his barrel to all parts of the field. This 6'1"/210 3B has a bright future in the game.

12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament Justin continues to show solid abilities in his game. Defensively at SS, he is aggressive and comes to get the ball. He moves well to his backhand and can make the play in the hole. As a hitter, Sheesick gets into a solid loaded position and swings on a level path. He has the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Seeing the ball deeper into the zone and keeping his weight back will help his ability to drive the off-speed pitches. Justin plays the game hard and leaves everything on the field. He has talent and still has a lot of time to improve his game.

11/11/2012 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Justin is a primary shortstop that can also play third and second, and will graduate in 2016. At short, he makes plays while fielding the ball out in front athletically. He has soft/sure hands, quick/clean exchange and an accurate arm from the high 3/4 arm slot. His footwork is playable, however, he needs to work on his back-hand mechanics to ensure carry with his throws. With the bat, he has a great approach and hits the ball to all fields. Generating fast bat speed, being on-time, and on-plane, he makes square contact. Implementing a load will increase bat speed and help his complete rhythm. In all, the strong lower/solid/athletically built Justin, has a couple of years to continue improving and make himself into a promising prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
