10/15/2023 - National Showcase - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Kahne continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around the ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn.

07/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Greensburg (Pittsburgh), PA Kahne continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine as he did improve his hitting/power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Kahne increased radar velocity to 67 MPH, exit velocity to 63 MPH, and ran his fastest 60 to date at 8.66 seconds during his last workout with The Factory. At SS, Kahne has good actions, he moves well to the glove side, and he makes plays consistently. He works the double play well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and a strong arm across the diamond. On the mound, Kahne has good balance, he separates his hands on time, and has a controlled landing toward home plate. He finishes complete and throws strikes. Offensively, Kahne has a square stance, a short stride, and good balance. He swings aggressively, works the middle of the field, and uses his lower body. Abilities can continue to improve with work on the following.

2. Quicken exchange
3. Release
Pitching

2. Loosen AA
3. Lower body

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Kahne is an athletic and talented 2025 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. At SS, Kahne fields the ball out in front of his body, creates momentum in his throws, and has a quick release. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, present a low/early glove, and learn to throw from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Kahne starts in a tall stance, gets his backside through the ball, and hits the ball to all fields. Continuing to load his hands back into the drive position and attack the inside part of the ball will allow him to have a more compact swing. Widening his stance will allow him to stay in his legs and be balanced throughout the swing. On the bump, Kahne throws his fastball for strikes and competes on every pitch. He needs to continue to gather over the rubber, separate on time, and ride his back leg toward the plate. He has a controlled landing but needs to continue to work over the front side and finish. Kahne will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Washington, PA Kahne is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Kahne has good fundamentals, he moves well to the ball, and fields in a low position. He presents properly, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum across the diamond. n the mound, Kahne works in good tempo, he separates on time, and shows good composure. At the plate, Kahne has a tall set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a simple approach, a level swing, and he gets his lower body through. Overall skills can improve if Kahne can work on the following.

Defense
1. DP's
2. Arm strength
3. Exchange
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Arm action
3. Lower body
Offense
1. Stride
2. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
