04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC We enjoyed watching Kai compete at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games in Myrtle Beach. He has an excellent offensive profile with a combination of plate discipline and lots of hard contact. He is aggressive on pitches he likes and it led to some key hits, which in conjunction with a handful of walks, resulted in Kai being on base quite a bit. When he keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time he seems to do damage. He is an athletic defender behind the plate with some present strength that serves him well at the catching position. His hands work well as a receiver and he has a good, efficient transfer when throwing to bases. The foundation is in place for this prospect who looks to be able to stick at a very valuable position. We look forward to seeing him again at an event.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
