10/09/2024 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2028) Kale Sobbing is a versatile two-way prospect who demonstrated solid skills both defensively and on the mound at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. Defensively, Kale showed good hands at first base, fielding the ball cleanly and consistently fielding out in front. His three-quarter arm slot gives him a unique throwing motion that generates accuracy and efficiency, making him a reliable option at first base with the ability to make strong, accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Kale’s fastball was clocked at 73 MPH, with a breaking ball at 65 MPH and a changeup at 62 MPH. He pitches with a solid mix of offerings, but his command will be key for him to become more effective, as he works on refining his mechanics and controlling the strike zone. Kale has the tools to be a solid pitcher, and with continued development in pitch control, he has the potential to make an impact on the mound. At the plate, Kale demonstrated a swing on plane, consistently making solid contact and showing good bat-to-ball skills. He was able to hit the ball to both sides of the field, showing his ability to use the whole field effectively. Kale showed excellent plate discipline by drawing three walks, showing patience and the ability to work counts and get on base. Overall, Kale Sobbing is a well-rounded player with a strong defensive presence, a solid pitching repertoire, and a good offensive approach. As he works on refining his pitching command and continues to develop his power at the plate, Kale has the potential to become a key contributor both as a hitter and a pitcher at the next level.

02/19/2024 - National Showcase - Omaha, NE Kale is a LHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2028. Shows good footwork and fields from a square fielding position. Good actions at first base with hands out front. Creates momentum to his target and made on-line throws to all bases with an arm velocity up to 73mph. At the plate he starts in an upright and square stance. Starts with a short glide step and has good rhythm. He is balanced at contact with head on ball. He made contact to all fields during his round of BP. On the mound he gets to a good balance point and picks up his target. Has a loose arm stroke and gets his chest over his front knee. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 70-71mph with tailing action, a 1/7 shaped CB, and CH with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. Kale should improve in all areas with continued growth and development.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Kale is a 2028 1B/LHP who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. At 1B he shows athletic actions and has good footwork around the bag. He shows good body control at baseball with a good glove angle. Good internal clock as he gets rid of the ball on-time. A left-handed pitcher he works exclusively from the stretch. Has repeatable delivery with a fluid arm stroke. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 71mph with some movement, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with plus command, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. Shows a fast barrel through the hitting zone with a high finish. In live game action he showed good plate discipline as he reached base 4 times with 3 walks and was hit by a pitch. Kale showed great leadership skills and has a high ceiling on the baseball field. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Kale is a talented 1B/LHP in the 2028 class. In the field, his arm works well. Action is loose with carry and accuracy. Displays athletic actions in his footwork and around the bag. Hands are clean and his exchanges are quick. Ball sticks to the mitt and his backhand play is advanced. On the mound, scouts described him as smooth and easy. Has a high ¾ release, attacks the zone and is highly projectable. Operates with a 3-pitch mix out of the stretch. FB sat 64-6 and CB dropped in at 56-8. His CH ranged 60-2 and all three were in the zone. At the plate, he is a spray to all fields hitter and demonstrates the ability to get on base (21b’s/2 BB). Likes to be aggressive in the box and barrel is on-plane. Uses a controlled rhythm and uses his core to generate bat speed. Working on flushing the previous pitch and winning the next pitch will be a key point and he advances to higher levels. Overall, Kale is a growing prospect in the 2028 class.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Kale is a 2028 1B/LHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the All-State Tournament in Mississippi. At first, he did a great job of getting in an athletic ready position on the balls of his feet, showing off active feet and staying aggressive to the baseball. He gets in an athletic fielding position and squares the ball up, with range to both sides. He throws from a high 3/4 slot and creates momentum on his throws with a loose arm action. He improved on his raw velo from a previous event, recording a throw of 68 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance with high hands and gets an exceptional load. He works hard to keep his head on the ball but really battles at the plate. He shows some pop to the pull side. He reached base in 6 of 7 plate appearances of game action with 5 walks and a hit by pitch. He recorded a max exit velo of 70 MPH, greatly improving on previous marks. On the mound, he shows off some feel for the position and gets in a confident setup. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. His arm action is clean and he keeps his stride in line on delivery, getting a controlled landing. He ran his FB up to 66 MPH and works hard to get good extension on the pitch. Both his CB and SL have some tilt . In two days of game action, he struck out 2 over 3 innings. He worked hard to simplify his delivery and limit free bases, but he did a good job of backing up. Kale is an intriguing prospect that should continue to get better and we are excited to see more of him in the future!

11/06/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Omaha, NE Kale is a young and talented LHP/1B in the 2028 class. In the field, he makes the routine plays look routine. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
