Karsen Lewter is a 2027 graduate who displayed an impressive combination of speed and athleticism at the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. Defensively, he excels as both a shortstop and outfielder, demonstrating exceptional quickness and the ability to take great angles to the ball. His strong, accurate arm allows him to make quick, precise throws, significantly aiding his defensive reliability. At the plate, Karsen shows excellent mechanics, achieving good extension through the ball and utilizing the entire field effectively. He has a keen ability to hit the ball where it’s pitched, showcasing his versatility as a hitter. His approach is line-drive focused, and he demonstrated this skill by hitting a solid line drive single into the right-center field gap. Overall, Karsen is a dynamic player with a bright future. Karsen is an OF/SS prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing prospect with some strength present and room to add throughout. Karsen continues to show improvement every time we see him. In the OF good first step reads enables him to cover ground in all directions and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high catch. He made on-line throws consistently from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 71mph. At SS he shows good actions with a high baseball IQ. Closes distance on batted balls and fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. Showed ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a short glide step, with knob to C, and hits into a firm frontside. A direct barrel path enables him to spray balls to all fields. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.
03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX
Karsen is a solid SS/OF in the 2027 class. On the dirt his feet are active and he centers his body to the baseball. Shows excellent posture and fielding actions with his feet and glove angles. He has a high exchange and gains a ¾ slot. Creates accurate feeds with feel across the diamond. Solid awareness on his feeds and spins and great actions on slow rollers. In the OF, his feet worked well and he works hard to get behind the baseball. He plays through the baseball and can redirect the ball back to the dirt with high efficiency. At the plate, he has fluid movements and can hit to all fields. Keeps his head still and stays inside his feet. Path is direct and his barrel stays on the baseball well. Overall, scouts were impressed with his actions and look forward to seeing his development at future events.
01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Karsen is a 2027 SS out of Midland, TX who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, starts on the balls of his feet, with active footwork, and showed good body control at the baseball. Closes distance on batted balls and fields out front. He gets rid of the ball and keeps working towards his target. Throws from a high 3/4 release point. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and open stance with high hands. He hits into a firm frontside with good barrel control. Hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 63mph. Overall, Karsen is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Fall Prospects Tournament (MS)
Karsen is a 2027 MINF out of Midland, TX who continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.
06/24/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (MS)
Karsen is a coachable SS/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at the CWS. In the field, Karsen shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Karsen build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets into simple load and engages his lower half well. He works through a smooth swing and drives the ball to his pull side. Karsen can barrel up more baseballs by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Overall, Karsen is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic
Karsen is a SS out of Midland, TX in the class of 2027. He's a gamer who has a great attitude. Defensively, he displayed active footwork by taking good angles to the baseball and getting in proper fielding positions with his glove out front. He made clean exchanges and accurate throws with a short arm action. Offensively, he used a square stance and fluid timing to drive his lower half through the zone. He has a short on plane path which allows him to make line drive consistent contact. Karsen could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, agility drills, strength training & bands. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2027 middle infielder.

Karsen is a class of 2027 SS/OF from Midland, TX. He shows off his best skillset covering ground in the outfield. He does a good job keeping his feet active and getting good reads off the bat to help extend his range. Does a good job of playing beneath the baseball and fielding from an athletic position. Creates momentum to throw and throws are on a line into the infield. In the infield, he shows good footwork and the ability to create angles for himself laterally. He continues to show good feet as he works downhill through the baseball. Shows an advanced backhand setup along with high levels of baseball IQ. At the plate, this switch hitter shows similar actions from both sides. He does a good job using his legs and staying in his lower ½ to drive the baseball. Shows a good approach that is focused on the middle of the field and is willing to hit the ball to all parts of the field. Karsen is a good player that will have success as he continues to grow and develop into his high school years.
