12/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN Karson is a young, 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, Karson has a clean arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and he separates his hands on-time. He works at a good pace, shows good glove side lead, and competes in the zone well with all of his pitches. Karson‘s FB topped out at 79 mph, and his off-speed show well. Mound effectiveness can get better if Karson can avoid throwing across his body, landing in a more square position, and sharpening his off-speed. Behind the plate, Karson has active/efficient footwork, a firm/presentable glove, and he sits in well. He has simple actions, blocks and receives well, and tracks the ball to his glove. Karson has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with consistency and accuracy to 2B. Pop times were as low as 1.98 seconds to 2B. Abilities behind the plate can improve if Karson can sit in lower, and work to gain ground when throwing. At the plate, this RHH has a tall/open stance, he loads his hands back well, and he stands in well balanced. He is a strong hitter, with a rhythmic swing, and a direct level barrel through the zone. If Karson can add more lower half and bat speed, offensive numbers will get even better.
