12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Kayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a tall / squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has some strength in his swing through a line drive approach. He battles at the plate and makes consistent hard contact. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 6 for 9. At 1B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Midland, TX Kayden is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Defensively at 1B, he hustles with active footwork and works into an athletic fielding position on GB's. He gets rid of the ball with a quick exchange and makes on-line throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP delivers a (FB, CB) from a hi 3/4 arm slot. He separates on time, delivers with loose arm action and looks to pound the zone with strikes. As a hitter, Kayden shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He rips his lower 1/2, swings on a direct path through the zone and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
