10/25/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Broussard, LA Keaton Lytle is a promising 3B/1B with a tall body type, recently competing at the All-Ripken Games. Defensively, Keaton has good arm action and shows strong fundamentals, but he is working on improving his foot speed to expand his range, which will further enhance his defensive capabilities. At the plate, Keaton is focused on incorporating his lower half into his swing to generate more power and consistency. Despite this, his quick hands allow him to still make good contact and stay competitive offensively. His natural leverage, thanks to his tall frame, gives him great potential for added power as he refines his swing mechanics. Keaton’s upside is significant, and with continued development, particularly in using his lower half, he has the tools to be a dynamic player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
