12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Kellan is a 5 ft 4/100 OF/LHP in the 2029 class. He recently had a great showing at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he moves with advanced and smooth actions. He plays on the balls of his feet and has a great understanding of working behind the baseball. Creates a positive 1st step off the bat and stays low to the ground. Plays with aggressive actions and shows a willingness to lay his body out to make plays. Arm angle is a low 3 qtr. slot and working to throw the top of the baseball as he advances and gains strength will be a key point for him moving forward. On the mound, he shows poise and feel for the positions. Gives an athletic feel with proper balance and can pitch to contact. His FB sat 51-4 with natural arm side tail. His CH shows sink with loose arm action. At the plate, he stays quiet and gets into his load early. He has above average strike zone awareness and trusts his hands very well for a young player. Is aggressive on the basepaths and looks to add the free 90 whenever possible. Overall, Kellan is a rising star in the 2029 class.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Stockton, CA Kellan is a LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2029. A young/developing player with some strength to the build and room to develop. In the OF, he shows efficient footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Good 1st step reads enable him to work behind/through the ball with a high 1-hand catch. Fields from a low fielding position with clean gather off right foot. Long arm action in back working into a low 3/4 arm slot coming forward, with accurate/on-line throws and an arm velocity up to 64mph. A left-handed pitcher, he works with good tempo and is coachable. He gets a good rear hip coil and rotates to his target. Throws a FB that sat 56-61mph with some movement in the zone, a knuckle ball, and a changeup with some arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. A left-handed hitter begins with an upright and open stance. A direct barrel path, with good extension out front, and ability to make square contact during BP. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 63mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development before he enters high school, we see him having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
