07/22/2008 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Kenny is a RHP with a strong looking body on the mound. Arm strength is solid average and he does need to get on a strict long toss program to further aid in the development of more arm strength and rise in velocities. Breaking ball is a quality pitch showing as an above average pitch. It has tight spin, 11/5 shape with late sharp bite. Slider is near above average showing 10/4 shape with short break. Change up is solid average showing average feel with run. Command is above average with all his pitches. His delivery is solid with good rhythm and tempo allowing his arm action to work easy and free away from his body. Dietrich will catch the eyes of the college coaches with his abilities on the mound and stock will rise in a hurry if more arm strength is developed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
