06/05/2023 - National Showcase - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Kennedy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. In the OF, he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building mor arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) Kennedy is a 2024 OF who showcased his skills at the Fall Prospects Tournament. In the OF, he gets good reads on balls off the bat, with smooth footwork, and runs down balls in all directions. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. He fields out front, and has a clean exchange off of his left foot. He made accurate throws into infield from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance with comfortable hands. Gets on-plane early and showed a strong barrel through the zone. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph during BP. During the tournament, he reached base with a single and a base on balls. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Kennedy having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Los Angeles All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Kennedy continues to show shine with baseball abilities at the All-Star Classic. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Kennedy is a tall, lean 2B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 3 years to further develop, Kennedy has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
