Official Scouting Report

  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

07/17/2010 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Kenny showed improvements in his defensive ability during his time at Team One West. He is a lean, athletic, SS with quick feet, good hands, and athletic actions. He fields the ball cleanly, has a smooth backhand, and a quick release with good carry to his target. Offensively, Kenny has an athletic set-up, good bat speed, and he makes consistent contact. He has quick hands, a short stroke, and shows some pull side pop. Looser actions and a better stride should help offensive grades further improve.

01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Peoples continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities as he projects best at SS for the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.75. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in his defensive play, improving grade as his hands and feet work well through the fielding and throwing process. Offensively, Kenny shows a line drive approach as he utilizes all fields.

12/20/2009 - College PREP - Agoura Hills, CA Kenny is a young, athletic, 2-way player at SS and on the mound. He currently projects better at SS, where he has good footwork, hands, and a long, loose arm. Kenny has quiet actions, he sets up well, and fields the baseball in a low, athletic position. He has a soft glove, turns the DP nicely, and has the ability to pick out the right hop. Already strong defensive numbers can improve if Kenny can tighten up his technique, get more legs into his throws, and become a bit more aggressive. On the mound, Kenny again shows off his loose arm, and arm strength. He has good rhythm, arm action, and works low in the strike zone. His FB has some tail and sink, and his SL has tight spin with bite. With a little mechanical polish on the mound, Kenny has the ability to be a 2-way player at the next level. Offensively, Kenny has good balance, bat speed, and solid barrel accuracy. He has pop in his bat already as a Jr. Kenny can improve offensively if he can loosen up his overall actions and spray the ball to all fields.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
