06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Keouaokalani continues to show steady progress in his game. On the mound, delivery is repeatable as he works in line and on time, allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 66-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the diamond.

01/21/2018 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Keouaokalani continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. In the MIF, as he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are soft / clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/14/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Keouaokalani is a lean, athletic built 2B/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set and graduates in 2019. As a right-hand hitter, Keouaokalani has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and quiet head. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride. Keouaokalani has a direct, on-plane swing path and does a nice job staying inside the baseball. He gets good extension at contact showing solid results. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. In the field, Keouaokalani plays with effective pre-pitch actions and the proper angles to cover a wide territory. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, square position with good glove extension. Keouaokalani has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently online throws across the diamond. On the mound, Keouaokalani has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. He does a nice job rotating with his core towards his target and effectively using his front side. Keouaokalani has tail movement on his fastball and some depth on his slider. Overall, Keouaokalani is a versatile prospect who has a good approach to the game giving him a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
