07/17/2010 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Kevin is an athletic, 2-way player, that plays 3B and RHP. He currently projects as a 2-way guy at the Collegiate level. In the INF, Kevin moves well laterally, shows a soft / playable glove, and he fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick release and has above average arm strength across the diamond. An improved backhand and more aggressiveness will help defensive abilities further improve. On the mound, Kevin has a clean / repeatable delivery and a long / loose arm action. He has a very good presence on the mound and finishes well over his front side. Pitching can continue to improve with added arm strength and an improved change-up. Offensively, Kevin has a short stroke, good bat speed, and he stays inside the ball well. He has a rhythmic swing and direct hands to the ball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
