08/03/2021 - All-In Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Khai is a strong, athletic C/ SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.33 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 5 years to further develop, Khai has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
