03/14/2015 - College PREP - Sioux Falls, SD King is a 2-way player (C/3B) who has an athletic build (6'0"/165). With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He has rhythm in his hands and waits for his pitch. Swing is quick as he connects and hits line-drives. 'Smoothening' out his rhythm to load will allow for increased contact consistency. Behind the dish, King sits in well and tracks the pitch into his mitt. He works around pitches in the dirt and centers the ball off of his chest. Exchange is clean as he makes accurate throws down to 2B (pop times of 2.35). Working to stay on top of the ball and getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength and lower pop times. A 2016 grad - King has a projectable build with skills and time to progress.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
