08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Kobey is a hard working SS/RHP prospect who hustled on and off the field during his time at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown. In the field, Kobey presents the ball well on double play feeds and shows a strong arm across the diamond. Kobey can improve defensively by attacking ground balls more and by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He takes a short swing to the ball with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives to the gaps. Kobey can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Kobey has a repeatable delivery and pounds the zone with all of his pitches. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph. Changeup sits at 51mph while showing good feel for the pitch. Kobey can improve as a pitcher by being more aggressive towards the plate. With four more years to develop, Kobey has the time and potential to further progress his game.

08/13/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the Under Armour All-America Game Kobey is a agile 2B graduating in 2021. He brings energy to the field and is willing to learn. At 2B, he is a vocal MIF with active/athletic actions. He works around the bag on the DP well with with quick footwork and fires accurate throws. As arm strength and lower 1/2 strength develop, he will see his defensive abilities improve. At the plate, this RHH shows excellent strike zone recognition that allows him to get his pitch and take an aggressive swing. As he works to get his lower half involved in his swing, he will see a more effortless, powerful swing. Kobey is a young player that enjoys being on the field and getting better everyday.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
