08/17/2014 - National Tryout - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Kohl continues to show as a 2B and in the OF for the first time at the event where he currently projects slightly better defensively. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.23. In the OF, defensive grade has improved, now showing solid abilities as he displays clean / smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Feet are active / aggressive and he reads balls well off the bat. At 2B, defensive grade are now slightly above average with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he showed a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.
