06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Koji is a well built catcher with good athleticism and baseball instincts. He improved his defensive ability since we last saw him in February. Behind the plate, Koji has good feet, he receives the ball well, and has a firm wrist. He moves his feet well when blocking, has a quick release, and an accurate arm to his target. Added arm strength and better feet when throwing should help defensive abilities further improve. He also calls a good game and works well with pitchers. At the plate, Koji has a short / compact swing and he stays on top of the baseball. He works the count well and can work the ball gap to gap. Hitting can get better if Koji can let the ball travel deeper in to the hitting zone. Overall, Koji is a solid, leader type player with great baseball instincts that will be a nice college athlete.
