07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) Konner continues to shine with his baseball abilities and did so at the IMG National World Series. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Monticello, IA Konner is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. In the OF, he takes aggressive routes to the baseball, with active feet, and ability to cover ground. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a clean transfer off his left foot. Made accurate/on-line throws into infield from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 76mph. On the mound, he separates his hand on-time, with a clean arm stroke, and lands square to his target. Shows ability to repeat his delivery and keeps his eyes on target throughout. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 72-74mph with slight cutting action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a changeup with arm side sink that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Starts with a good bat angle, with a short stride, and ability to deliver the barrel. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Konner is an OF/RHP in the class of 2024 out of Cedar Rapids, IA. His athleticism is on display in the outfield. He has active feet and takes proper routes. He works through the baseball and creates momentum to his target. His exchanges are clean and his ball has carry (87 velo). His loose arm action creates accurate throws. On the mound, he is a two pitch guy with a FB/CB. The FB topped out at 74 and CB sat at 64. He has clean mechanics and repeats his delivery well. His curveball has tight 11/5 shape and he commands it. At the plate, he begins with an open stance and gets back to square with his load. He uses his lower half well to project as a gap to gap hitter. More work with his timing will allow his hands to get in sync with his swing and increase path awareness and bat speed (78 mph). Konner is a talented young man with a bright future.

10/24/2021 - All-In Membership - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Konner is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Konner shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Getting his glove down earlier can help Konner make more backhand plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, spraying the ball to all fields. Konner can create more consistent contact by working on outside pitches. On the mound, Konner gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Konner operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 58-61mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 63-66mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Konner improve his pitch command. With three more years to develop, Konner has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
