07/12/2013 - Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Konnor is a tall, lean 1B/LHP that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level. Feet are active / athletic as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft, clean, and sure as he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Pilkington continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a loose / level swing. He is strong and has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, showing plus barrel accuracy. At the event, he was 1 for 4 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break shape. Command / control are a plus as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. With 2 years to further develop, Konnor has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
