01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kyle jumped from indoor winter workouts in the northeast onto the field in Arizona and had an impressive outing at the UAAAPS Tournament. His delivery was balanced and in sync, allowing him to repeat well and throw a high volume of strikes. He attacked hitters with a solid 3-pitch mix that featured a fastball that touched 80 mph and lived down in the zone with some natural sink and tail. His off-speed offerings were a curve that had 2/8 shape with good rotation and some depth along with a change that he threw with good arm speed. Kyle competed well on the mound and showed some mature signs of pitchability, namely working inside to right-handed hitters and pitching to contact. This LHP has more upside and is a prospect to continue to follow closely.

08/14/2017 - College PREP - South Williamsport, PA Kyle is a projectable LHP who can fill up the zone. Mechanics are sound while he repeats his delivery. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his shoulders level and stays directional toward the plate. He works his FB in and out while it has slight cutting action. FB sits mid to upper 70's with more in the tank. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape and will prove to be a solid 'K' pitch. Changeup compliments his FB well as it has good arm-side sink. He mixes his pitches well and can hit his spots. As a hitter, Kyle shows a balanced approach. Swing is level as he barrels the ball up consistently and drives it back up the middle of the field. Working to swing against a more firm front side will help to get more lower 1/2 drive, resulting in more power. Kyle has a ton of upside on the mound and is a strike thrower who will give his team a chance every time he toes the rubber.

05/26/2012 - Little League® Experience Kyle is a big/solid/athletic who is a LHP and plays OF. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has above average arm strength with loose arm action. On the mound Kyle has well above average arm action, control, delivery and balance. He tends to rush through his balance point and his separation is late. In the outfield Kyle displayed sure hands, athletic fielding position, fluid footwork and he takes good angles to the ball. He just needs to continue polishing his fundamentals and strengthening his arm. At the plate he has an athletic/square setup, smooth load and good power but he needs to make sure his hands stay up (he tends to drop hands on load). Kyle is a very solid all around player with a big upside. He has a great attitude and is a tough competitor. If he works at polishing his fundamentals and makes a few adjustments he can be an exceptional player in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
