Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHP/OFPosition Projection

08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Kyle is a solid built LHP/OF that can hit for some pop from the left side. Offensively, he showed fast bat speed, level swing path, and gap-to-gap ability. Fletcher is a serious hitter that should have a solid senior season at the dish. In the outfield, he gets good jumps, anticipates ball off the bat and gets to the ball in a low athletic fielding position. He has a quick transfer from glove to throw, but needs to stay in line to enhance carry. On the mound, he throws three pitches for strikes with his fastball topping out at 76 MPH. His curve-ball and change-up are his best pitches and he is successful keeping hitters off-balance as he mixes well. In all, Fletcher is a very projectable 2014 graduate that can pitch, hit and play the outfield.

06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Kyle worked out both on the mound and in the OF during his time in Omaha. On the hill, Kyle has a short / sound arm action, a controlled balance point, and on-time separation. He has level shoulders, he works in good rhythm, and he competes in the zone. In the OF, Kyle has good routes to the ball, he reads it off the bat, and he throws with carry to his target. At the plate, Kyle has an athletic set-up, he gets his hands through the ball, and he uses his lower 1/2 well.

02/02/2013 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Kyle is an athletic, solid, LHP / OF who will graduate in 2014. On the mound, Kyle has a short / loose arm action, a tall balance point, and he keeps his eyes on target. He works in good rhythm, has good direction toward home, and he competes in the zone. Not falling off, a softer landing, and added arm strength will improve mound effectiveness. In the OF, Kyle showed sure hands, active feet, and he fields athletically. He works behind the ball well, gets on top of the ball, and throws with accuracy from a long arm action. Defense can improve if Kyle can get rid of the ball quicker and finish off his throws. Offensively, Kyle has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he makes consistent contact. He has a level swing, he can work the ball gap to gap, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. A better load and added bat speed will spike hitting.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
