01/16/2023 - National Showcase - Portland, OR Kyle is a talented catcher in the 2025 class. Scouts feel he plays above grade level and has a bright future. Behind the plate, he has active feet and agile movements. He presents a low target and his glove is soft. Has a quick exchange and uses short arm action for an accurate release (2.27 pop). Stance is staggered at times and working to stay square to the dish will allow him to maintain the strike zone with higher frequency. At the plate, he shows solid power (81 exit velo). He hits to all fields and demonstrates tremendous balance. His barrel is on plane and is classified as a gap-to-gap hitter. Overall, Kyle is a must follow in the 2025 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
