05/25/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Memorial Classic 18U Participant
Started the game at 87-88 before settling in the 84-85 range. Delivery was athletic and arm worked with quickness and life. Spun breaking ball in 69-73 range. Used secondary pitches despite some trouble with FB command. Likely two-way college prospect. Versatile and capable defender, quick feet and hands along with athleticism to excel at 3B and have seen solid in MIF before. Short quick right handed stroke, line drive type hitter with usable speed.
01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Kyle showed well on the hill during his time at the Pre-Season. His FB has good movement, he showed a good set-up and solid control. He works in good rhythm, keeps his shoulders level, and he hides the ball well. Kyle's FB has good A/S run, he's not afraid to pitch inside, and he mixes his pitches well. At SS, Kyle showed sure hands, average footwork, and he plays through the ball some. He has a long arm action, and throws with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Kyle showed good balance, bat speed, and solid extension through the ball. He has a good eye for the zone, and he makes consistent contact.

Keatts continues to show as a two-way player at 3B and on the mound as he currently projects best on the mound for the next level. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 85 mph on the mound. Fastball showed a range of 83-85 mph on a straight plane. Breaking ball is best off speed pitch displaying downward tilt with sharp breaking action. Command and control are a plus as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all of his pitches. At 3B, feet active and he shows soft, clean hands. Offensively, he displays a balanced approach with hands working through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.
01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011
Kyle showed solid skills for his age in his all around game at the Preseason All-America. In the INF, Kyle has playable hands and feet, and moves through the ball well. He has nice athleticism, a soft backhand, and gathers himself well. Kyle has a clean exchange and throws with a short arm action and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Kyle displayed an 83 MPH FB, from a free / loose arm action. He has a quick arm, works in good tempo, and maintains balance throughout his delivery. Kyle has level shoulders and lands in a sound / square fielding position. Offensively, Kyle has a balanced approach, an aggressive swing, and keeps his head on the ball. He has good bat speed, a level bat path, and makes solid contact. Kyle is young and with time to improve will have a bright future in the game.
12/27/2010 - Christmas Camp and Tournament 2010 - Session 2
Keatts continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities and projects as a two-way player for the next level. At 3B, defensive grades have improved as he utilizes his feet well through his approach, displaying a sure glove action. He displayed the ability to make the great play as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Offensively is where Kyle has improved the most displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power. He is aggressive attacking the ball with his hands and works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B, 3B, and HR. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 80-84 mph with solid off speed pitches that show a lot of potential to be quality pitches at the next level.

Kyle is a young (2013) two-way player at SS plus on the mound with a strong, athletic frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.16 60 time. Feet are active as he works around and plays through ground balls with his body. Glove action is presented down and out front, displays soft, clean hands. Throws show carry but needs to work on his foot work to throw to improve accuracy. Offensively, Keatts shows an athletic approach as he loads well with hands working directly to the baseball. He closes his stance through his stride causing him to hit across his lower half. He makes consistent hard contact with power numbers improving as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through his swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 81-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with slight break. Changeup shows average feel for with run and sink but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch. With 3 years to further develop, Kyle has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
