08/18/2013 - College PREP - Dickinson, ND Kyle is a tall, athletic 2B that will graduate in 2015 with a strong lower half. At the plate is where Monroe shows through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he displays strength in his swing. Power grades will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At 2B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack ground balls more, play through while presenting hands out front and improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Kyle has abilities with time and room to continue to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
