03/21/2010 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Kyle is a young, athletic, OF with a good set of basic skills. In the OF, Kyle has good hands and footwork. He is a smooth defender who moves through the ball well. He moves easily in the OF, uses a sound crow hop, and throws the ball accurately to his target. Normal growth and maturity, along with a better pre-pitch routine will help Kyle become an even better OF. Offensively, Kyle has okay balance and bat speed for his age. He gets to the ball easy, has a line drive approach, and shows some pull side pop. Kyle is a gap type hitter, and with more direct hands to the ball, and a more simple stroke, hitting grades can further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
