07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Kyle is a hardworking C/OF prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2018. As a left-handed hitter, Kyle has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Kyle shows fast bat speed with quick hands and gets good extension at contact delivering hard contact. He is line drive type hitter who can drive the ball to the pull side with power. Behind the plate, Kyle has an effective setup and moves swiftly with smooth actions. He presents a low target in an athletic stance staying square to the pitcher. Kyle has a quick, clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. He has good momentum through his quick release showing accurate strong throws down to 2B with pop times ranging from 2.05-2.18 seconds. Overall, Kyle has a well-rounded skill on both sides of the ball with upside to get even better.

04/30/2017 - College PREP - Charlottesville, VA Kyle is a broad, solid catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared/balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He makes consistent contact through a line drive swing path with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he works to keep both hands on the bat through extension. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target. Pop times showed in the 2.16 range with accuracy/carry to his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Hands are firm but needs to widen stance and present glove more out front to improve receiving grade. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get down sooner and improve flexibility. Kyle has potential with a lot of room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
