03/21/2021 - All-In Membership - Columbia, SC Lacey is a tall, lanky LHP who graduate in 2022. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 73-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Slider is his best off speed pitch with tight spin and short / sharp break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality and gets along with peers. Lacey has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
