04/25/2010 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Overall, we did not see any significant jumps in terms of tool grades or velocity, but Lance continues to show a very strong upside on the mound. He did not top the 83-85 mph on the radar that we saw last October, but he has a great pitcher's body and good arm action which is an indication that he has potential to top those numbers down the road. He needs to learn how to use his lower half effectively throughout his delivery in order to maximize velocity. He mechanics of his curveball improved, as it showed a more traditional 12/6 rotation with sharp, late break. He continues to show confidence with the split finger which should prove to be an effective "out pitch" for him. Offensively, he showed an opposite field approach. He starts from an open stance and tends to cut himself off, making it more difficult to hit inside pitches. Overall, he had another solid performance and we look forward to seeing steady growth in all areas.
