12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Landen is a 2025 2B/RHP that showed his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. In the field, he starts on the balls of his feet and has active footwork. Landen has a low fielding position, with hands out front, and gets rid of the ball quick. He throws from a low ¾ arm slot and has accurate throws with a raw velocity of 72 mph. On the mound, Landen was very effective and kept his pitch count down in both outings. He has a FB that sat at 68 mph and a breaking ball that had good break at 61 mph. In 2 innings of work in the game he allowed no runs, just 1 hit, and walked a batter. At the plate, he starts from a open stance, with loose hands, and a small load. Landen has good balance and a smooth repeatable swing that allowed him to spray the ball all over the field during batting practice. During the game, he was able to reach base several times getting 2 hits and a walk. We foresee that Landen will continue to impress coaches as he progresses.

10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Spokane, WA Landen is a tall, lanky 2B who will graduate in 2025. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Landen has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
