12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Landen is a talented 5 ft 11/160 SS/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he plays on the balls of his feet and shows agility in his attack angles. His body is on-time to field and his hands prove to be soft and sure. He creates clean and quick redirection actions and uses momentum on his release. Arm works at 78-82 and he can backspin the baseball for excellent ball flight. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high 3 qtr. slot. Scouts love his arm action and his ability to hide the baseball. His FB sat 72-3 with run. His CB shaped 10-4 at 57-8 and was in the zone. His CH has a natural and loose stroke at 66-7. At the plate, he begins in a tall and athletic stance. Gains a short stride and displays excellent body control. Works the baseball to all fields with 86 exit velo. Had a solid showing on the weekend with 2 hits and 2 BB’s. Overall, Landen is a solid two-way player in the 2025 class.

06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Landen continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his targets. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. Range will continue to improve as he continues to improve foot quickness.

07/20/2022 - Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Landen is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame with some strength present and plenty of room to develop. At SS, efficient feet and ability to move lateral. Good rhythm to actions with good fielding angles. Works into a low/square fielding position with some feel for glove pocket. Short arm action into a high 3/4 arm slot with a recorded an arm velocity of 82 mph. A right-handed hitter who hits from a athletic and tall stance. Showed an aggressive approach at the plate and ability to make hard contact. In live game action, he reached base 8 times and showed pull side pop with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having the opportunity to play at the next level.

06/05/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Landen is a SS/RHP in the 2025 class who impressed Baseball Factory scouts with his athleticism. In the field, he has a fluid feel with lightness in his feet. His hands are soft and he has advanced pocket feel. His exchanges are clean with a release from a high 3/4 slot. His feeds are accurate and he uses momentum on his throws. Working to quicken glove to hand transfer will assist him when facing game-changing speed on the base-paths. On the mound, he uses 3 pitches. His FB topped out at 70mph and he worked down in the zone with it. His CB sat 53-54 with 11-5 shape. His CH proved to be his best out pitch and sat 64-65. At the plate, he has loose hands and a simple and controlled load. He flashed solid extension and drove the baseball to all fields. He is defined as a line drive hitter at this stage of his career with potential for gap-to-gap power as his body and actions mature. Overall, Landen is a solid prospect in the 2025 class and a player to keep an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
