01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Landon is a talented, 2-way player both on the mound and at SS. He is a lean, skinny, athletic player that could be a dual player at the next level. At SS, Landon has good hands and feet. He has a quick 1st step, works around the baseball, and has a good exchange from glove to hand. If Landon can get his glove down a bit sooner, and soften his hands a bit, already solid defensive numbers can get even better. On the mound, Landon's FB touches 88 MPH, he has good arm speed, and extension. He gets good direction toward the plate and he keeps his front side closed. Landon has good mound presence, pitchability, and he works down in the zone. Offensively, Landon has good balance and bat speed. He has a level swing path, gets good extension, and can hit to all fields. Better tracking of the ball, and more consistent use of his lower 1/2 will help hitting numbers get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
