05/15/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Landon is an OF/LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the OF, Landon shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Long tossing can help Landon build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Landon can barrel up more baseballs by working on his contact points. On the mound, Landon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with his chest square to his target. Landon operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Breaking ball sits from 50-53mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 52-53mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Landon improve his pitch command. Overall, Landon is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/22/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (MS) Landon is a class of 2025 OF/LHP. On the mound, he showed a 2 pitch mix of a Fastball up to 62MPH along with a Curveball he was able to show feel for with a 1-7 shape. Delivered all pitches from a High 3/4 arm slot with a downhill plane. Threw strikes 58% of the time against live hitters. He could see big improvements with the use of a structured arm strength/throwing program. At the plate, he showed a simple setup and load. Did a good job creating separation with help from his lower 1/2. Did a good job staying balanced and tracked the ball well. In game action, he recorded a single along with multiple other quality at bats. In the field, he did a good job keeping his feet active and playing on the balls of his feet. He showed off a good 1st step and ability to get reads off the bat. Creates momentum to throw and throws we’re accurate into the infield. Landon is a good player that continues to develop.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (MS) Landon is a coachable OF/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Pro Training Experience. In the field, Landon shows efficient footwork and fields in a square position. His exchange is clean and he works to make accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Landon build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and works through a level swing, producing solid line drives. Landon can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Landon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Landon shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 58mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 48-49mph with 1-7 break. Developing a changeup can help Landon keep hitters off balance. With four more years to develop, Landon has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/19/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Landon is a coachable LHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Landon starts with a simple rock step and keeps his glove centered at his balance point. He separates his hands on time and works with a clean arm. He accelerates through his release and stays inline towards the plate, keeping his pitches around the zone. Strengthening his front side can help Landon improve as a pitcher. With six more years to develop, Landon has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Landon is an athletic and talented 2025 2-way prospect that is a playmaker. In the OF, Landon starts in an athletic stance, he's on time with his prep step, and reads the ball off the bat well. He works behind the ball and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. Improving his first step to the ball and reading the hitters swings will increase his range at the position. At the plate, Landon starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has an explosive backside, his hands work inside the ball, and he drives the ball to all fields. Landon needs to continue to keep his head down at contact, step toward the pitcher in his stride, and stay balanced through contact. On the bump, Landon shows confidence in his fastball and fills up the strike zone. He stays centered over his back leg, separates on time, and works north to south in his delivery. Landon is a leader on the field and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Landon is an athletic prospect that was very engaged in his training and has a high baseball IQ. At the plate, Landon starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He loads knee to knee, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and keeps his head down at contact. He needs to continue attack the inside part of the ball and be aggressive on fastballs. Landon is a contact hitter that uses all parts of the field and will continue improve with experience. Landon will continue to get stronger and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
